Something to crow about

Halloween is fast approaching, and – eek! – you’re in need of a card idea. Something humorous, perhaps?

Quoth the raven, “You have got to be kidding me.”

This die-cut screams “party fowl.” Paired with the sentiment, it’s one funny bird. Plus, this card is easy to scare up for your last-minute crafting needs.

If all my puns have ruffled your feathers, read on to learn how to make this creation, joke free:

Make a card from a 5-by-10-inch piece of textured cardstock. Cut a 4-inch-square piece of orange cardstock featuring large polka dots (I used the reverse side of “Cob Webs” from the Haunted Manor collection by Doodlebug Design Inc.) and adhere it, centered, to the card’s front.

Cut a 4-by-1 1/2-inch piece of white cardstock and adhere it to the bottom portion of the polka dot piece, close to the bottom edge.

Using dimensional adhesive, affix a die-cut of a raven in a party hat and ruffle collar (I created mine using my Silhouette Portrait, “raven vintage party crow” by Glitz Design and white cardstock to print the design onto) to the left portion of the card’s front, over the white cardstock.

Stamp a humorous sentiment (such as “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME” from the Nailed It collection designed by Shimelle Laine for Two Peas in a Bucket and Hero Arts) in black ink (mine’s Versafine in  onyx black) onto the white cardstock, next to the raven.
